Wind Turbines
For this project we began by learning about biology and ecology and how our earth is going through global warming because humans are building factories that emit green house gases. Our group came up with a small solution to that problem. Our idea was to build two wind turbines on 805 Atherton Ave. that is 11.23 acres. The cost of this project would be immense but we believe that we could get government funding because it will help our environment and because it is in our area.
Wind turbines operate on a simple principal. They consist of two propeller-like blades around a rotor and that rotor spins a generator that creates the energy. The spinning of the blades is because of wind in that area. The wind turbines would be a very good start to stopping global warming and having other energy sources that will not emit any green house gases.

Reflection
I believe that this project did go very well for our first project of the year. It taught us about research and how to use the correct websites, how to properly talk on the phone with a manger of a company and also just how factories and other things affect our climate change. A positive about this project was that I learned more about our environment and how crucial it is that we try and do everything we can to preserve it. Another peak was that I got experience talking on the phone with a manager of a large company and talked to him about wind turbines and how they work. One thing that probably could have made the project even better was if my group and I made a physical model rather than a model on the computer. This would have made it easier for people to see just how much room it would take up and where they both would be placed. Another idea on how to make this project better was if we were more organized and ad a script on what we were going to say in our presentation. Overall this project was a great experience for me and helped me learn more on how to help our environment.
